Building Division Policy for Video
An updated policy regarding City of Loveland residential building inspections will allow homeowners and contractors to conduct inspections via video beginning Monday, May 18. The “virtual” inspections are part of the City’s continuing effort to provide services while protecting the community and employees from the threat posed by COVID-19.
Those requesting video inspections must be willing to read and comply with specific instructions to properly perform the inspections, available at:

A limited number of in-person inspections are available to residents who are unable to comply with the video inspections and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis with longer wait times.
In-home inspections will require residents and/or contractors to be willing to comply with strict instructions including social distancing and wearing masks. Prior to any inspection, the applicant will need to confirm that no one in the residence has any COVID-19 symptoms.

After five years of development and testing, the new whole-house water efficiency rating system developed by the International Code Council and RESNET has been finalized. BSR/RESNET/ICC Standard 850-2020 provides a Water Rating Index score that accounts for both indoor and outdoor water efficiency for one- and two-family dwellings. This webinar will provide an overview of the standard, the development process, and a new program based on the standard called HERS H2O.
