Message from Greeley's Development Department to all members of the Construction, Development, Real Estate, and Related Industries,
To say that we are living in strange times would be an understatement. However, I want to provide you an update of the City and Community Development’s services and commitment, as we all work to navigate the changing work and economic landscapes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City of Greeley is supporting and taking seriously the Governor’s recent Stay-at-Home Order, which encourages higher levels of social distancing and creative work alternatives, while also maintaining continued economic activity as much as possible. In particular, one of the designated essential activities remains construction.
To that end, the City of Greeley remains committed to providing civil and building inspections to the full extent possible. We are practicing safe and creative ways to do so, and, as such, you may find your inspector making requests to talk by phone in the field versus in person, or meeting in open-air locations and practicing social distancing of 6’ and more. For coordination and meetings, we are exploring and using Zoom video conferencing to meet a variety of requests. Inspection requests continue to be fulfilled using the on-line TRAKiT tool found on the department and division websites.
In addition, we continue to review applications for future development. Our Planning and Engineering Review services are functional, so that projects in development or in the pipeline can continue to move forward. Land use cases (site plan review, zoning, subdivision, etc.) all remain active, and new applications can continue to be submitted on-line.
We recognize this is time of great uncertainty and adjustment for you. The City of Greeley remains committed to helping facilitate your goals of bringing housing, re-development, office, commercial and industrial space to the community, so that as the nation recovers, you are also positioned to succeed by bringing new development and services to Greeley citizens.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. Be well,
Brad Mueller, AICP
